Air France pilots with iPads

Air France has chosen to replace its old Lenovo X60 by iPad, the Apple tablet, in order to rotate the integrality of documentation for its pilots, reports several news sources on the Internet

Air France follows a much broader movement that began several months ago by various airlines, including Alaska Airlines, with the blessing of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The New Ipad is a perfect companion for Pilots, avoiding heavy bulks of documents, charts and providing backup flight systems.

First 787 to United Airlines

United Airlines has become the first US airline to acquire the new  Boeing 787 Airplane. Service of the new 787 will include Houston and Chicago.

Boeing is delivering the new 787, around the world, while the 777 still provides flights to more than 300 passengers per leg.

A new flight will be held from Seattle to Houson getting ready for passengers lights right away.

After years of delays, Boeing Co. has begun delivering a handful of 787s every month. With more than 800 sold to airlines around the world, it will eventually be a plane that travelers encounter regularly. The 787 seats 219 passengers -- making it relatively small for a long-range plane but ideal on routes where it's tough to fill a larger 777.

Boeing claims the Dreamliner will be 20 percent more fuel efficient than comparable jets. And it promises a better travel experience, with more space, better lighting and carefully calibrated air pressure that should lead to fewer flier headaches.

The Future of Commercial Aviation

The Boeing 787 also called Dreamliner has  the latest breakthrough technologies in an all-new airplane design. The advanced features of the 787 increase efficiency, simplify airplane ownership and operation, and significantly improve the air travel experience.

Designed by The Boeing Co. design team and Teague's design team, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner features an expansive inner architecture as well as dynamic LED lighting that replicates day-to-night light patterns, dimmable windows 65 percent larger than other airplanes and larger stow bins. It has been one of the most successful commercial airplane launches with more than 800 orders valued at $164 billion.
